The most common Lebanese Arabic word for 'now'. Derived from هَالوَقْت (this time). Used constantly in everyday speech.
Examples
هُوِّ نَايِم هَلَّق، بَس عَادَةً بْيِنَام بَكِّير.
He is sleeping now, but usually he sleeps early.
الدَّوَا عَالَجْنِي وْ هَلَّق حَاسِس حَالِي أَحْسَن.
The medicine treated me and now I'm feeling better.
أَمَّا بِتْخَلِّص الشُّغُل هَلَّق أَمَّا بِتْخَلِّصُو بُكْرَا.
Either you finish the work now or you finish it tomorrow.
